Hi Rufs,
I have just booked a ferry and cabin on Poole/Cherbourg for 3 -24 Sep 20. I also noted that all crossings from 4 Jul to 30 Aug 20 are fully booked, Probably due to reduced capacity.

strange it was showing that poole/cherbourg would not run again this year due to lack of demand, maybe things have changed, as you say looks to be up and running now, but thanks for update, live 20 minutes from Portsmouth ferry so Portsmouth/Caen ok for me and already booked but could be good for return trip maybe in November.

I think you will find that the July/August services from Poole are cancelled rather than fully booked and I would advise you to ask B/F whether your proposed September sailing really is operating.

My understanding is that "Barfleur" is mothballed for the foreseeable future and that services from Poole to Cherbourg will not be running, but that really does need to be checked with the company in case changes to bookings are needed.
Portsmouth to St Malo is due to resume on 17th July 2020

Our booking was amended in March to an early September one to St.Malo from the original Bilboa one.
Was very pleased with BF as the March booking fell within their normal cancellation T&Cs and as we decided to abort just 1 day before sailing and prior to Pandemic being declared by WHO BF didn't owe us anything but agreed to transfer to September, even refunding a small difference and putting new sailing on flexi system. The return was late April and was on Flexi so we just moved that ourselves.
Very happy to read about the precautions they are taking. Should get some feedback from members on CT before making a decision whether to go or not. Other factors to take into account as well but all being well we may be on that ferry in early September ourselves.
BF were exceptional with us and we were very pleased we had booked direct.

I have just read the BF notice placed on web site on 23 June, which states, as said above, that Barfleur is out of service throughout the Summer, due to unpredictable bookings. The booking I made has just been amended by BF to say there is no accommodation on this crossing 3 - 24 Sep. I therefore assume they are now not offering day cabins because of the intense and time-taking cleaning regime required.
It’s a pity that BF and others, don’t have a message such as “No Service” instead of just “Sold Out”.

K, I am glad you got a quick amendment in place of the Barfleur, but on the B/F ships will will be in service this summer they certainly are offering day cabins - in fact apart from a restricted number of reserved seats they are insisting on day cabins for their passengers, - all to keep movement and congestion around the ships at a minimum. Day cabins are their way of social distancing . Bon voyage.

I have reserved seats booked, but if they allocate us a cabin instead, not particularly fussed, if we go, booked on morning crossing 2nd Sept Portsmouth/Caen so no big shakes seat or cabin, provided things pan out in Spain will return sometime in November. These short crossings are better for fido as he can doss in the boot, suits him fine.
BF have been really good for us, ok would have saved some money via the club but much more aggro if you want to make changes.
