Years ago I had 2 ladies working for me, one from Cornwall and the other from Sandy in Bedfordshire.  From time to time they used to bring in their homemade pasties.  If I’m really honest about the the clanger had the edge

It's the pastry that counts, it has to be made from strong bread flour otherwise the pasty will fall apart, down the mine, in the field or on the sea front...wink

There’s an interesting article here about the history of the Cornish Pasty. I stress Cornish as this has nothing to do with who might have thought of the idea first.😶

12 large pasties for £40, or less than £3.50 each, is very reasonable for a quality product. 👍🏻👍🏻

    Free postage, too.

When was the last time you had a pasty in Cornwall, Dave?

St Agnes bakery - giant steak pasty - a meal in itself for £3.95 and cheap at the price! 👍

WOW I never gave it a thought that what I believed was such an innocuous question could or would have caused replies that would be Deleted User.

Thanks for everyone that have given a reply to my question. I will have a go at  cooking my own if I can get some of that other elusive thing ‘ strong bread flour’.

In my wagon driving days I used to go to Penzance regular. On 1 trip I had a leaf spring on the wagon break. I had to take it to garage inland from Penzance. The mechanic said my company would get charged the same price as locals, he told me that they charged holiday makers more. That is overstepping the mark
