Today we made a decision not to go into Europe with the van in two weeks time. It was no problem for the Foreign Touring and Insurance staff to make all the changes required. They must be going through it with people changing and cancelling.

    A wise move and I am glad you were helped, but many people are learning this year that buying Flexi tickets directly from tunnel or ferry company makes changing dates so easy.

    For instance Flexi tickets bought direct from Brittany Ferries can be amended personally on line, free of charge, at any time up to four hours before departure.

    I have a Standard booking made directly with Eurotunnel and again, for the third time, I've altered my date from next week to the end of April at no extra cost.

    We are hoping that travel may be available by then but we aren't by any means confident that we will be able to go at that time and another date extension may be necessary.

    I had the same experience today with the club, the lady who cancelled our ticket was cheerful, helpful and efficient in what must be hectic and trying times.
