Where has this post been for the last ten weeks? But let us know if you are going after lockdown and one of us will reply. Cheers.

Davey. if you still wish us to advise a bit more info please. Caravan or motorhome? Do you have a preferred route; there are 3 options - east, west or central? As a start for you, we used to live near Beziers and towing a caravan we allowed 2 and a bit days of easy driving Calais to Beziers. We would get an afternoon crossing and then stay near Calais hitting the road the following morning and always used the central route via Rouen, Chartres, Orleans and then the A75. We just used to stop when we had had enough driving never booking ahead. Also, we used 3 x 2 hr plan - 2hrs driving then coffee, 2 hrs then lunch and a further 2 hrs in the afternoon. Travelling in April (N/A now!) there are fewer sites open but you can usually find enough.
Yes, where has this post been sitting?

Don't stay overnight in service areas. Last July we got broken into in a service station and they took all of our money from my wallet and my wife's bag. We didn't hear a thing and had no idea what had happened until I went out in the morning and seen the damage on the caravan door lock

I imagine your trip has been delayed? However if it gets back on track this link might give you a few ideas depending which route you decide to take. http://www.davidklyne.co.uk/the_route_south_2.html
