it will be our first trip abroad to France this year with our dog. As we know you all have a wealth of knowledge and would appreciate any tips to make it stress free.  We are looking to stop in the Normandy, Aquitaine and Loire regions, so looking for any recommendations for small sites. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Just down this page is a thread headed Finding Touring Sites in France. There is no better advice for you than the reply there from PeeDee.

I hope  your first visit goes well.

Is this the first time you will be driving on the continent or just the first time with a dog?

It’s the 4th topic down from the ‘stickies’ on the overseas sites and touring thread.

    🙂

    Three quick tips we’ve learnt...

    1. Unless you’re travelling in late July or August, you don’t need to book ahead. Gives more flexibility.

    2. Download Archie’s app of sites

    3. Get an ACSI card/book for deals outside high season.

    good luck.

Thank you all for your recommendations. Yes it's the first time we've travelled abroad and first time with our dog.  We've booked everything through the club site as its our "initiation" trip, but I'm sure we will pick up useful tips on our journey.

Jankev, you will have a lovely time.  France is very dog friendly.  Rather than list loads of things here there have recently been a number of postings in this o'seas section covering just about everything you need to know.  We wander off topic occasionally but you will find it interesting reading.cool
