Fancy taking your Motorhome to the USA?
There is a recent Story about shipping a UK registered motorhome to the USA. The Story is here https://www.caravanclub.co.uk/club-together/your-stories/usjoe/1989-auto-trail-apache-tours-the-usa/ It might be of interest to anyone thinking of doing the same.

A pretty long winded way of following the trip, shame he has not done a stand alone blog as I am sure it contains lots of very useful information. Might I suggest people initially skip to page 17 where the writer gives a synopsis of the trip and his thoughts you can then decide whether you go through the entire thread. There was recently in MMM an excellent article on the same subject so there is a surprising amount of information out there.

I remember about ten years ago 2009 we were working Abbey Wood and we had over the year quite a few (10) members staying on site before taking their motorhomes to Tilbury for shipping to the USA, talking to the people they said the vehicle was wrapped and winched on board and you met it in NY in a months time and it cost then about two thousand which even back then I didn't think was to bad.
Most spent a year there and one Dutch couple were going to live there and wanted to take their motorhome with them.

Seabridge tours, although based in Germany, has a website in English with details of prices, port fees, insurance, etc - shipping motorhomes on roll on/ roll off ships, sailing on a regular weekly schedule from UK ports. They say they have experience of shipping 7000 vehicles.
And for owners who don't want to fly there is the option of having a cabin on the same ship as the Motorhome - either to Baltimore USA or to Halifax Canada.
