Given the fact that the flooding in the area of Chatsworth has been so much in the news. I would have thought it might warrant a notice on the site page re the status of the site. Surely that's what the internet is for, the ability to quickly update and keep folk informed. 🐖🐖🐖 🛫Perhaps they have done something on Face Book ( I don't use that so wouldn't know)

That's what I don't understand Steve, not a word from the "Club" on what is happening on one of their sites.
Still, it's the weekend now so don't expect anything till Monday anyway.
I would expect the poor wardens to be rushed off their feet answering the phone from folks trying to find out if they are open or closed.

👍🏻, today(more relevant) it doesn’t seem to be ‘specifically mentioned’ which is good news. A lot can happen in 24hrs😊

surely people would just stay away until the environment agency gives an all clear for the area, or is that being over presumptuous, after all it is not just the club site that is in a yellow warning area, so surely people with any sense would stay clear at least for a few days, would be stupid to clog up the area with caravans/mh's.

Totally agree with poor communication from the club.
I posted his problem, albeit at nearly 9pm, but it was only hearsay. Surely the club would have known the severity of the problem long before that and should have clarified the situation. Seems as though all the work was done by the wardens.

The environment agency took away the flood warning for Baslow this morning, does that mean it is safe on site ??

You wouldn't know from looking on this website and not all "members" are on club together. Whatever happened to keeping customers informed?

I am still concerned about how this incident has been handled. I live in Derby and the county was awash last night. Everything appears to have been left to the wardens. Why were people evacuated late into the evening with no provision for alternative accommodation? Poolsbrook would not have been an option as Chesterfield was flooded. The A6 was flooded in several places and subsequently closed. The people who beat the closures last night were very lucky. I would not have liked to tow a caravan in last nights weather anywhere at that time of night and in those weather conditions. Unfortunately Chatsworth is quite remote, but could some temporary accommodation have been found on a school playground, village hall carpark or supermarket car park?
Come on club. Please don't leave it all to the wardens.

Maybe think that things like that won't affect them, and they would attempt to get there come what may. They are of the mind that as it's their weekend for going away and as they've booked a pitch nothing is going to stop them taking up their booking. They ignored the site speed and arrival times so why bother ignoring advice not to travel.

I don't know the up-to-date situation but just a comment on the site.
On Thursday mid-morning it was hammering it down with rain as we prepared to leave the site after three nights there.
A large 'Council' type yellow vehicle was going round the site sucking up leaves from the road edges and depositing water back into the centre of the road through pipes at the back of the vehicle.
They seem obsessed with leaf clearance, two hours each day with one of those noisy back-pack blowers, removing leaves from empty pitches and within an hour the leaves have dropped from the trees and covered the pitches up again.
The approach lane on Thursday had puddles the size of Ladybower at the entrance and Chatsworth Park was virtually awash.
It was thick with mud on the paths just outside the Club gate to the Park and some of the ducks had put lifejackets on in expectation of flooding.
Wonderful place is Derbyshire - on a sunny day !!!

FALLEN leaves are a constant nuisance in gardens at this time of year; they clog ponds, clutter corners of patios, make paths slippery, and smother tiny treasures growing on raised beds and rock features.
If left for long, a blanket of dead leaves can even turn your lawn yellow.Leaves need raking up regularly in autumn and early winter.

There's very little lawn area on a club site for leave to turn yellow. Not many raised beds, patios or ponds either.I agree that there might be a path or three, but as you can see a few leaves on the ground, I'm sure you'd be treading carefully like you do on a pavement elsewhere!

So let’s change the word lawn to grass areas, like grass pitches, play field, grass areas between hard standings.
I can just hear the statement from the caring warden “you should have been treading carefully like you do on a pavement elsewhere”where there’s Blame there’s a claim springs to mind.
there are plenty of reasons to collect leaves Like it or not, I’m sure you wouldn’t want to turn up to a site in spring with dead grass areas because nobody collected any leaves in autumn

Then a few days ago there was a thread started about the lack of leaf clearing at Baltic Wharf
then in these days of litigation lawyers, there is always those who think they can make a "claim"
the "prize winning" commercial site we have been on this last weekend the staff were out clearing leave most of the time , and one large tarmaced area was taped off as "danger slippery surface" it was covered in leaves0 -
Safety is more important, the litigation is the best way to wake up lazy public facing outfits. Complaints they ignore, court appearances they shy from👍🏻
