WARNING SOLID CONSTRUCTION IS NOT DRY -  We bought a new Buccaneer Commodore in October 2017 at the NEC show  and had it delivered in June  2018 when we had that lovely dry spell of weather , at a cost of over  £30000,  after just 5 weeks of ownership and the first rain , we had water ingress between the roof and the side wall in a overhead cupboard above the front seating area , seeing it was just  outside the 30 days we could not automatically reject the caravan  under the consumer 2015 rights act and had to give our dealer the chance to fix the problem which we did .

November 2018,  when the caravan was just 5 months old the water ingress reappeared in the same place  however this time we rejected the caravan and returned it to our dealer seeing that it was under 6 months old and that the fault had reappeared .

the dealer would not accept our rejection and continued to repair the caravan , but we where having none of it and refused to change our minds , also i may add Buccaneer / Elddis were of no assistance and just said that it was between us and our dealer .

January 2019 we appointed a solicitor and from then on our solicitor dealt with the  dealer , the dealer was still not responding to letters etc and to cut a long story short court proceedings where issued against the dealership and  a court notice was issued.

to finalise the day before it would have gone all the way to court October 2019 the dealer finally issued us with a full refund for the cost of the caravan plus they landed themselves with over 10k in fees . RESULT

W e had a expert opinion done on the caravan who found shortfalls in the construction and build quality of the caravan

So to sum it up Buccaneer / Elddis SOLID  construction is NOT DRY and if you own one best of luck to you , we have since now given up caravaning
