Could anyone recommend a site suitable for a caravan in the Lot valley/Aveyon/ Tarn valley area. We are wanting somewhere within easy driving distance of hill top villages for day trips, we especially want to visits cirq-Lapopie, cordes-sur- ciel, Albi, Najac etc

We might have to do 2 separate sites?

One of the three campsites at Cordes sur Ciel ? I forget which one we used,  but from Cordes you have a short drive north to Najac, south to Albi, and west to the Aveyron gorges.

We also stayed at a sweet little municipal site at Rabastens - between Albi and Toulouse, and visited both those two places from there - there is motorway in both directions. And Toulouse city centre is stunning.

Sorry, can't help with St Cirq - we never went there.

Acsi no 2369 camping Redon, is the one we stayed at in May this year. Cordes sur Ciel is minutes away and an easy drive to Albi. Very nice site, Dutch owners who only took it over this year and working very hard, this is there second site so not newbies to running a site. Good sized hedged pitches, nice little bar and restaurant run by the family. Would stay there again.

We stayed at  Ruisseau du Treile in Larnagol which is seven miles from St Cirq Lapopie. There is more information about the site and area in my blog

I've always avoided the centre of Toulouse. Perhaps I should rethink as Et has sparked my curiosity.

As a local to the Lot we have stayed at Flower camp lake bird as it is now called but we know it as Dlower lac d'oiseaux Martiel 12220 it is in between Villefranche and Cahors near enough for Najac and St Cirq la Popie both have a Motorhome Aire adjacent St Cirq campsite is called La Plage, we have stayed at Larnagol last year but would not recommend found the owners not that friendly or helpful possibly because we live locally but would not go back there again roads are a bit narrow with caravan on the back.

Were going to the one TG said near Cordes sur Ciel this month but a change of plan due to friends coming over but will go there next year.

    Enjoy your holiday.

Many thanks for the suggestions I will enjoy spending time looking at them on the internet etc. I get as much enjoyment in the autumn/ winter planning next years trips as I do actually going on the trip.

I have also really enjoyed looking at your blogs longtimecaravanner and will spend more time looking too. Thank you.
