Some things that I like on C&MH Club Sites

There is probably a certain amount of comfort in knowing what to expect on club sites. Some people like the familiar which is why chains such as McDonalds stick to a tried and tested format.
Whilst I sometimes like the 'same old', it’s also good to explore the unknown but, when it comes to standards and cleanliness of facilities, the club(s) known products are very welcome.

Agree with all EasyT’s “likes’ in the OP ‘though not too bothered about privacy cubicles. Do like having clean, well maintained facilities. Having said that my main ‘like‘ is being able to easily book 1 single night (subject to availability). The club suits us fine & we use their sites in preference to other pitch providers if they are where we want to be.

+1, H&S saves lives, a commitment to our health & wellbeing is paramount, a sign of a forward thinking company. The days of scant regard to H&S are long gone. My family is worth it👍🏻

I can’t really agree with your last sentence, David. Although there is a certain amount of uniformity and familiarity, as I posted earlier, there is a wide variation in the appearance and layout of sites. You can’t say that having seen Chester Fairoaks you’ve also seen Kendal or Dunnet Bay or Bromyard Downs. They vary widely.

…yet the familiarity of knowing what standards to expect, albeit in a very different setting.

What I dont like and why would never see a CAMC site as a holiday destination is the "Lidl" effect "see one and you have seen them all".
I have never seen any site by any provider and regardless of additional facilities as 'a holiday destination' David.
As I said earlier CC sites represent about 50% of the sites that I stop at annually and one reason that they figure highly, as well as those reasons in my OP, is that whether a site with facilities or not the standards are generally what I like.

I'm curious about this so called "Lidl effect" - thinking back over the sites we've used over the years I can only think of maybe a couple that have reminded me of one another - the newer area at Bridlington (still maturing) and the main area at Troutbeck Head. You certainly couldn't compare, say Cirencester or Putts Corner with either of those.
Although, admittedly I've never used any of them, from what I've seen in their publicity Morris Leisure sites are far more likely to have that effect.

If you have used quite a few Club Sites, then you soon realise that they are indeed full of variety. We’re not huge users, but appreciate the choice of a rural site such as Nunnykirk, and a City Centre Site such as YRP. Then you get the heathland Sites such as Yellowcraig, and the quarry Sites such as Bromyard and Lower Wensleydale. All quite different, but with most visitor guidance and facilities of a similar kind. If there was one thing that we would like a bit more, it’s how HS pitches look. Not huge fans, but using an aggregate local to a particular area would be nicer.

Is it al those rules that brought you back to rejoin as a member DD?

There is a variance between CC facility sites but there are also similarities.
With regard to Morris Leisure there is one similarity on all four of their sites that I have used and one that I dislike. The showers and toilets etc have all been located near reception and the site entrance rather than central to pitches.

On my rest days ET, just waiting for the sandwiches to be made then we're off to walk the coast path. There's peregrine falcons nest nearby and the young have recently fledged so I'm hoping for some good photos.
Not much machinery action on this site it's the campers that annoy the campers here!

It’s time you went round and stayed at them again, David, as the years have clearly fogged your memory.

You think not but then you’ll never know how different many sites are.

Agree with Easy T about CMC, however prices are beginning to 'sting' a bit, tried some C&CC sites on our last tour, Moffat & Skye hoping they would be cheaper...but because of the exclusions, they were not, plus we had to stay 2 nights at Moffat as a minimum , whereas 1 night would have been enough.
