Best way to sell a caravan

Due to ill health we have to sell our caravan but have only ever used previous ones as part exchange for new and have no idea how to go about safely and quickly selling the one we have.  We would welcome any serious and sensible advice as we do need to sell quickly.

Thanks

Steve

The quickest and easiest way is to sell to one of the companies advertising in the back of the club magazine that they want caravans for cash.

The best financial return though will probably come from selling privately which could be a longer process. You can advertise in numerous places such as this club's classified ads, Auto Trader, PreLoved, local paper etc. There are lots of options.

Another way might be to sell to a local dealer, perhaps one who specialises in used vans, or to find a dealer who will sell it on your behalf on a commission basis.

Good luck and watch out for scammers.

Sorry to hear you need to give up our hobby.

Four years ago I decided to sell my caravan and not part exchange it.  I found an independent dealer and used him as a broker.  The dealer prepared, advertised, displayed the van for a fixed fee of £500.  The benefit for me was I didn’t have the minefield of scammers, the van was sold within a month and I made thousands more than if I had accepted the p/e offer. For me it was a very positive experience

How did you find the dealer?

Already knew the dealer as fairly local to us in Norfolk.

Selling privately should get you the best price. The downside is time wasters, scammers and getting the money securely.

Traders will offer you less, possibly far less, as they need a margin to sell it on but there is less hassle and payment should be secure.

No right answer, it depends on what suits you.
