Are there different levels of membership

Been a member for 20 odd years, after a visit at the weekend it appears I should change my level of membership. When I arrive at sites I’m always told (regardless how many times I heard it before) about how to pitch my Motorhome. I learned the wrong way a few years back when I attempted to wash the flies off the front of my Motorhome, that this was not permitted under my membership.

This weekend we stopped off at the Blackpool South for 3 night. On the second day around 7 members arrived in large tag axles caravans being towed by transit vans. They were retailing generators as they asked me several times if I was interested.

All of them must have upgraded membership, as they parked very different to what my membership allows. They all climbed onto the roofs of the vans and used push chairs to carry churn after churn of water to completely wash their caravans, they drove around the site at excessive speed and all this seemed acceptable as nothing was said, unlike when I fail to comply.

How do I apply for this upgraded membership what seems to allow you to do as you please with the consent of the Wardens.

We left a day early to be told, not that we asked or implied we were looking for it, that our membership meant the 72hour rule applied and we would not get a penny back, her words. We felt like second class citizens, what a weekend, we really need to upgrade to this superior class membership.

Moderator Edit:

In reality, this appears to be a complaint and, as such, should be taken up directly with the site staff or, if no satisfactory response, then contact the Club's Head Office.

Obviously you discussed this with the warden who explained that he was powerless to act without more manpower and beseeched you to bring the matter to the attention of the club as he was sick of not getting the back up he needed. Just a guess, mind.😐

I wonder if you took up those issues with the resident site warden, Stewart, and if so what was their response? If not, why not? Surely these concerns should be reported to HO, whether you had an unhelpful reply from the the warden or not. They would then be able to tell you how to apply for the same membership as those that you saw on site.

Nope your guess was wrong, we just packed up and left. Using the Club less and less and this probably just finished us off. A sort of smile and sorry you are leaving early would have satisfied, but a huge rant about us not getting a refund was completely out of order. We were only handing in the key for goodness sake £23 is not going to lead to us starving

So you’ve contacted head office about your grievance?

I take it this post must be a wind up as unless you are that nieve and did not realise what part of the other type of "tourers"?organisation these arrivals belong to,and I would advise you to contact club, for a refund that I am sure would be forth coming , and am sure the site staff and any one else on site were as just as upset as yousurprised

I doubt that I would contact the club JVB as I would expect that the site staff would do that. Also I doubt that I would mither to recover £23.

If the "staff" were upset about the "tourers" why did they kick up a fuss when the OP told them that they were leaving early? Surely they would have appreciated the OP's point of view, unless of course they'd allowed the "tourers" to come on site with their permission. If not what hadn't they done anything to get them removed?

It has often been said, by members and club staff posting, that if you're unhappy with something on site the best person to discuss it in the first instance is one of the wardens. Then if you want write to the club as well.

And what do you mean by retailing generators? selling them on site? If so that is against club site rules and again go to the wardens.

Everyone on site were members, so not much the Wardens could do. I was not looking for a refund but was completely shocked at the reaction to us leaving early and the assumption we would be looking for some sort of refund. No intention of contacting the club. We decided not to renew our membership, not just because of this. The fact we get the usual “oh that’s a huge van” every time we arrive even when we ensure we are under the maximum length. Use more and more THS and European touring. Suits us better and can use the Motorhome for what it was intended.

Yes, attempting to sell generators whilst the wives washed the vans. The mess of the gents was beyond belief as the young guys got ready for a night out. I did not realise teenagers use talking powder, it was everywhere

Then as you have left really you must write in to the club, include pitch numbers and as much details as possible. This is hardly likely to be a one off by these people and could lead to them being banned.

We only as usual have one side of what actually was the "attitude? "of the site staff in what when an "iinvasion"of this type happens, after being on a site where this has happened (cambridshire area)there is not a lot that can be done by the site staff .and being on private property the local police cannot/will not help,
