We have booked to stay at Camping Le Logis du Breuil in Charente Maritime in August. We are doing the over night ferry to Caen, does anyone have any advise on the best route down? We did Vendee last year & was thinking of maybe following similar route  as it very easy & relatively toll free.

    That sounds to me that you are using the route via Rennes and Nantes.  The autoroute via Le Mans and Tours will save an hour or so, but will cost about 80 euros in tolls. Via Michelin shows both and gives prices.
