Not happy about the atitude of site wardens

Thank you.
I'm sure that goes for the majority too.

I've witnessed totally the opposite on a CAMC site: lady in front of me paid for her pitch then wanted to pay for her friends' pitch. The warden wouldn't let her do that and told her they'd have to pay themselves on arrival. She wasn't pleased, but the warden explained exactly what has been said here before:you cannot reserve a pitch for someone else and neither can you pay for someone else's pitch.
Seems to me the warden on Jazzybaby's site was wrong.

We've been told several times that folk cannot book in and pay until they arrive on site and show their membership cards so that warden would seem to be out of step.

Do we really want to know I wonder, I certainly don't. I couldn't care less where BD or whatever he/they are called these days are stopping.

That's very funny, made me laugh out loud! (First paragraph)
Very good.

It happens in the UK too.
My friends parents book the same site, same pitch year on year, have done for an age.
I will quickly add, it's for their summer holiday and the site is always always fully booked, you have to book a year in advance to get on.

😱😱😱😱

I dare say, Brit, but that's the UK where booking is the norm.

Mrs M's parents used to book the same pitch at Pentewan Sands every year when they were caravanners. Then they came to visit us on the site we used to stay at (not a club site - we were still tenters then) and quickly changed allegiance. Some years there were 5 units from various members of the extended family staying at the same time. We didn't ask for, or expect, to be pitched together. A short walk across site is no great hardship surely?
(Please let's not go down the "why can't we prebook a specific pitch on club sites" road again!)

I got fed up with all this booking specific pitches stuff so I bought a permanent one (over there)!!!

indeed, a warden stated so on CT a while ago. This cannot happen.

indeed, I thought Ad merely reserved pitches

But if your site neighbours are friends and family surely better?
This has just flooded into mind, Michelle, my wife, and our friend cooked an evening finger buffet, beautifully laid out, all the trimmings, I took a hearty bite into an open sandwich, hmm yummy, and nearly died. They had left the plastic film on the pepperoni!
That doesnt happen in any hotel.
Strangely a happy memory!
Love it.
Curious how this forum doesnt reflect the joy and happiness that being out on a site is.
Funny world.

This is perfectly acceptable, nothing wrong with an independent commercial site adopting this practice. They can do what ever they think is best for their individual business.
However, the club is different. It is a nationwide provider with multiple sites up and down the UK and has a membership of many thousands. It is perfectly acceptable for the club to adopt practices that the majority of the membership consider to be fair and transparent. But of course, there will always be that minority who think differently for their own reasons,

lol, really the same thing Dave, unless the non refundable fee is not taken off your bill? If not wow, things are bad over there, pay a fee to reserve then pay the full cost as well? Doesn't happen over here.
But glad to know you now do both and the myth of not needing to book/reserve over there, as you kept on saying is finally laid to rest
Sorry for being OT

+1
It is surprising to me that people join the club/go to their sites and think the rules they have (voluntarily I assume) signed to abide by does not apply to them

but necessary for you, which is different of course. I suppose it is to be near the dog walk?

Very quickly on the way out for a walk.
Think I've cracked the cones, some appeared here,
I'm almost certain its seasonal pitches.
Another example of how a simple act of placing an inanimate object can enhance a holiday.

As this was initially posted in the Story Section it is possible that the OP might not see this discussion. Thanks to all those who have clarified Club policy but unfortunately the thread is starting to move way off topic so I will close. Thanks for your contributions.
