Travel tips for motorhome trip to Croatia
We are planning our first trip to Croatia in September 2019. We are planning to stay for a month and travel from Calais and pass through France, Germany ,Austria Slovenia and Croatia. We would love to hear any tips , recommended campsites and places to visit etc.

September is a good time to visit Croatia: the weather is usually sunny and warm (until the late summer storms break) and the crystal-clear sea is about 20C. Campsites will have plenty of spare pitches, some near the water's edge, although regulars will have booked most of the best pitches. The largest sites can have a thousand pitches, but the crowds will have gone. There are also mini-autocamps which are more like CLs.

If you’re final destination is Croatia are you planning to spend only a few overnights in the other countries on the way down? If so I suggest you use Aires/Stellplatz/Sostas for over night stops on route with your motorhome. The Camper Contact App is excellent for finding overnight stopovers in Europe.
I’d recommend the numerous Stellplatz on the Romantik Strasse in Germany and the Sosta in Cortina if you decide to take that stunningly scenic route.
The island of Krk is idyllic in September and, as others have said, there will be no need to pre-book any sites either on the way down or whilst in Croatia.

We posted a Story about the ferry crossing to Cres and then to Krk. It may be of interest if you're going to the islands.
For some info on these islands
