Overnight campsite in St Malo
I am struggling to book an overnight site close to St Malo Ferry Port. As we have a 10.30am departure (latest arrival 9.00am) we are hoping to find one that is near enough not to have to get up too early and avoids possible traffic delays. There appears to be two municipal sites but when I try to book them by adding the date the booking fails. Your help will be great fully appreciated.

The municipal site in St Malo (Cite d'Aleth) is well situated but has very strange opening dates - open now if you would like to phone them, but then open for motorhomes but closed for caravans from 12th May to 1st July.
Other than that I myself would go to the municipal site 9 miles away at Le Minihic sur Rance - called Camping Le Rivage because it's on the river bank. It's the sort of site where I might phone them on the evening before arrival, but on the other hand might not. I haven't checked whether that one is open yet.
Apart from that I can only suggest you look through a trusty site guide or fall back on Google. What dates are you looking at?

That's well into French school holidays so you may be wise to make a reservation just to be on the safe side. There is an on line contact form you can use for that camp site.
My Club Touring France site guide is offering half a dozen other options close to the town which will be open by then . - but I don't know any of them.

The municipal campsite doesn't open till mid June so no one will be there now, so if campinglerivage35@orange.fr doesn't work try an e mail to the local town hall at mairie.minihic@wanadoo.fr

Hi Mr H, if you are looking at the Domaine de la Ville Huchet site you can book it through the Club, there is more information here and currently we do have allocated pitches available for the night of 13th July. You can book online via that link or by calling our Travel team on 01342 316101 - I hope you have a great trip in July!

Rachel thanks for your response. My concern with Domaine de la ville Huchet is its distance from St Malo. My ferry departs 10.30 and I must be there 1 hour before at the latest. Having never been to that area before I do not know how bad the traffic is and so how long the journey will take. Although we will minimise the morning packing we will still need to pack up and hook up and book out.
