Yes Metheven I agree. She did and decided our granddaughter was in the wrong. Showing off in front of her friends I think.

Easily solved, if you find too many children onsite  disturbing..avoid School holidays (and leave more pitches for folk who cannot avoid them) or go to an 'Adults Only' site of which there are many,

Dogs, if you cant stand dogs, find a site where dogs are banned. Not so easy I know as  we tend to be a dog owning nation, but there are a few.

Wardens...dont be afraid to enforce the rules, friendly....but firm.

We are two retired teachers who like children and relate to them. However school holidays we avoid club sites. We use 5 van sites, rallies or temporary holiday sites. On the latter the children know how to behave, on the 5 van sites they are few in number. We have found on club sites that some parents just ignore their children especially if the parents are in a group. Same applies at national trust properties on sundays. We have a friend who was a warden and said it was impossible to do anything about bad behaviour because he was never supported. On one occasion a member overstayed his booking by a week complained when the warden asked him to pay. Not supported on that issue.

Was on a private site last year where two families caused mayhem, noise, kids running riot all day and night, bikes in between vans and cars, facilities left soaking with taps on and water everywhere. We had words with one of the parents about walking across pitch between car and van to be told it was an accepted shortcut - she was corrected! Spoke to the wardens and they had had multiple complaints - some people moved pitches, some actually left the site, but their response was they are leaving on Monday you’ll just have to hold out - wth.

Wardens must be empowered, able and willing to intervene.

CAMC are probably worried that aforesaid transgressing member would demand a refund if thrown off early. Perhaps there needs to be a clearly declared policy that if the warden throws them off, there will be no refund and no appeal. At the very least such complaints should be logged centrally and, if serial offending is evident, membership should be cancelled.

Not so sure the CAMC would want to put Wardens in a confrontational situation, duty of care and all that.

We had a similar situation couple of years back.

Family arrived late Sarurday afternoon, pitched up next to us, shouting, then screaming, crying kids, slamming doors, well into the night, horrendous.

Following morning, young man gives me a cheerful hello!

Some folks idea of "normal" is way beyond others. Anyway they left Sunday night, there for the weekend only, peace resumed for the rest of the week. But we left first thing the following Saturday, gone by 6 am.

It must be over 12 months ago when I raised an issue with the Club's website NOT displaying the site rules - yes they are there if you're prepared to spend ten minutes searching for them - but for the vast majority of users, unless it's on the first page or right under their noses, they're never found and consequently never read, particularly by some of the newer members.

Granted, some people's behaviour on site may suggest they're illiterate or otherwise, but if they're ignorant of the site rules because they've never seen them, or they're not handed out by the wardens at check-in (together with the dog laws!) then this sort of behaviour will continue.
