Lichtenstein
Planning on visiting Lichenstein for a couple of days end of May. Can anyone recommend a site together with any hints or tips on visiting the country.

A quick look at ACSI seems to say there only is one campsite within that country.

We stayed there last summer. There is a large car park by the river (Rhine) and sports stadium - Rheinpark Stadion. Overnight camping is allowed and it’s quiet at night, I would judge it very safe and it has view of the castle. You can easily walk into Vaduz which is the main town. It’s well used as a daily stopover by coach operators and has a water tap and well maintained public toilet facilities. Barrier controlled entry/exit. I can’t remember the exact cost but very cheap e.g 2 Swiss Francs overnight.
Its not a cheap place to visit, plenty of high end shops and main industry seems to be banking. We didn’t do the castle, but I understand you cannot go inside.
Watch out after Brexit (or whatever!), Liechtenstein might require a 1926 Convention International Driving Permit which is different to the rest of the EU.

Thanks ET that is what I thought the site http://www.campingtriesen.li/en/ looks OK with reasonable reviews. Was hoping someone might come up with a recomendation like you did last year for me for Lalley site
.seaside bill thanks for info and photo but think prefer to stay on site with full facilities. Seen your ACSI review for Moscenicka Draga In Croatia from last year. Site we are planning on visiting this year. Did you go to Lichenstein from Croatia ? If so what route did you use?

Martatin, Glad you liked Lalley but afraid I can't help you with Vaduz, We once stopped 30 miles away on a simple site at Dornbirn - that's where we locked the car with keys inside, though I still don't know how. The local OAMTC patrolman came out, and when the entire campsite gathered round gave everyone an object lesson on how to open an old style Freelander without smashing a window. Good wishes to you.

Yes we did, but not directly. We went further into Croatia to visit the lakes at Plitvice (highly recommended), then into Slovenia (Podzemelj), Ljubljana, Lake Bled, Rasun Anterselva (Italian South Tyrol), Innsbruck and then Liechtenstein. We stayed at ACSI sites in most locations, but they have lost some of my reviews so let me know if you need any site information. The site at Moscenicka Draga is excellent but I’d recommend booking and requesting a pitch at the back of the site. The nearby coast road is popular with motorcyclists who think they’re competing in the MotoGP! Nearby Opatija is really nice and on a bus route. I really liked Croatia and plan to return asap, going further south next time.

Nattersee is a good site, very useful shuttle bus service into town. As well as the cable car up the mountain etc, I’d highly recommend visiting the old Olympic ski run, time it for when they are doing some demonstration runs - amazing to see from close up. You can get a meal there too.
Spectacular scenery around Rasun, good for overnight, but that’s probably enough unless you’re into hiking or mountain biking. It’s Italy but with a very German feel.

Sorry, forgot to mention campsite at Rasun - Corones. Nothing special, but nice enough for an overnight stay. Seems popular with heated pool and small restaurant on site. If you go to the ski jump at Innsbruck, there is a museum nearby featuring local history. I’m not really into dry museum stuff but the 360 degree, 3D painting in the museum is something else!

Thanks seaside bill. Stayed at Nattersee in 2016 on way to Garda. Saw ski jump from shuttle bus but didn't visit. Having read ACSI reviews may well build Rasun - Corones into my route for an overnight as looks quite a long drive Bled to Innsbruck.

We too are planning a trip to Lichtenstein in the middle of May. I have found a site in Austria, Panorama Camping, Nuziders, which is close enough for us to visit the country. We are only going to the place to add it onto our "been there" list. If I have to get a separate IDP I might not bother.

Their main industries are much less prosaic. Its tax-haven status attract over 75,000 businesses to register there, that;s two and a half each for every one of the population. It manufactures 60 million sets of dentures each year (20% of world production) and is big in producing stamps.
