How do I change my avatar?

Please help - I've been trying to update my avatar on my profile, but keep getting the following error message:  "Upload failed. Must be a valid image (jpg, gif, png, bmp)"

I've tried all 4 image types with no success.  I've also tried different image sizes.  I've tried static avatars and I've tried animated avatars - no luck with any of them.

Are there any maximum (or minimum) file sizes or images sizes that apply to CT avatars?

It's been a very loooong standing problem. The CC website is a load of cr4p with no signs of anyone doing anything thing about it. 😒

I have reported the thread. Asking if there is any update of when changes will be possible.

You never know we may get a response.

I am just glad that I did not change my avatar to my father Christmas one back in 2017 laughing

It was around that time (a month or so earlier) that our Brue became stuck as a pile of pumpkins. surprised

    Thanks Folks,
I thought that there may have been an easy answer, but I've emailed Rowena directly as Oneputt suggested.

The reason that this is important to us is that my avatar shows our CL number from the previous Sites Directory and I need to bring it in line with the numbering in the new Directory.

    Happy New Year!

In the meantime, could you perhaps post your new 'image' showing new CL number as an added photo in each post and just delete the current avatar?

    Tedious I know.

Rowena doesn't seem to like to answer questions on here as lots been asked about the 12 day xmas draw as when will it be done/will the winners be notified/will it be on the website etc etc. answers would be nice.

think it has been discussed on here before re the demise of this particular forum, and everybody having to use FB, you only have to take the launch of the Esso Card as an example, first few days of promotion great, lots of feedback from the commercial dept., then as the roll out became more and more farcical, less and less input from the club, to the point where there is now a deathly silence, it might be an Esso Card but as the club were promoting it they should be held responsible for the roll-out. Not used the FB forum but apparently it is very active with lots of response from the club.

p.s. before people wade in re Esso card, it does work, I have saved myself £10 in 2 fill ups (100 ltrs), pity roll out was so shambolic

I suspect Rowena will only answer if there is actually anything new to say? I make the assumption that as this has been raised many times the practicality of correcting the problem is either expensive or difficult given the forum software. But despite that we can all still use the forum so not quite the end of the world!

The winners were posted on fb. I tripped over the post, possibly on 24th December. I wasn't one! Not seen a thing on CT, seems a bit rude as the thread was started by a staff member!!

I find fb posts very different to CT. I've only glanced at it. Not easy follow through related posts, such is fb, there is far more usual info on CT. And I never thought I'd say it but fb searches are worse than CT! But whenever I've browsed I note how many club replies there are and how fast they are. sealed

    Hi Jill,
I've tried to delete my old avatar as you suggested, but can't see how to do it.
As you made the suggestion and are a moderator, I presume that you know how to delete avatars - please advise.

    Hi Ian,

I'm so sorry you are having issues with this. Unfortunately there is a defect which is preventing some members from changing their profile picture. Can you please email communitymanager@camc.com with the image you would like to use for your profile picture and I will ask our IT team to see if they can change this for you. I sincerely apologise for the inconvenience.

Does anyone know if there’s a way of including an avatar using an iPad? Website says Adobe Fash is needed which is not supported by ios systems.

As far as I know there is not. This has always been the case. I put mine on under the old system on my windows lap top, as it was not possible on my pad. When the web site was upgraded I assumed it would have been included, as so many folk use ipads and phones. This unfortunately was not the case and was confirmed by the club at the time.  After the upgrade you could still update on windows systems and I believe some other devices. However, I don't think anyone has been to update or add an avatar since about November 2017.☹️
