I only know the French side of the lake but this Club has Camping Morges in Switzerland in its Venture Abroad booking scheme and says it is lakeside. Is that a suitable site for you?

We stayed here http://www.davidklyne.co.uk/camping_tcs_LePetitBois.htm way back in 2007 and it might be the site that ET is referring to? Morges is lovely and in the French speaking part of Switzerland. From memory, backed up by the photos in my site report the pitches are pretty close together. Cars are parked in marked bays in front of the pitch.

Before you decide to take your boat, check with the Swiss authorities to see if a licence for the boat is required and also a licence (ICC) for the helm is required. Your boat will also need insurance that covers European inland use. We keep a boat in Italy and the authorities are very strict on the insurance requirements and the need for an ICC for the helm. In the lagoons along the north Adriatic coast a licence for the boat is not required but an ICC and suitable insurance is. The UK is on its own when it comes to a relaxed approach to power boating and the lack of mandatory qualifications for the helm. It’s not so in the rest of Europe.

Hi and thankyou all for the advice, we've only just bought our caravan so this will be our first adventure abroad in it, Camping Morges looks like it may be perfect for our needs so thankyou for the recommendation.

We're yet to purchase a boat but we're looking along the lines of a Honwave sib with either a 15 or 20 hp outboard, will look further into the requirements needed for using a boat abroad so thankyou for pointing it out.

    kind regards
