Shocking experience

Sitting in our caravan enjoying tv the other evening when the 240v lights began to flicker then all power went off. On going out to the supply box expecting to find we had overloaded and tripped it out I was startled to see smoke emitting from the rubber collar where the orange cable enters the plug. I immediately turned off the supply switch which surprisingly had not tripped out. 

As we had a second cable I connected that one and power was resumed. On dismantling the plug I was expecting to find a loose connection inside but instead was met with the site of a well cooked earwig amid burnt wires. I know the little blighters get into some tight corners but this one certainly had an electrifying experience.
