The great big public toilet map has now been let loose, centred on London and can only zoom out so far, but the map can be dragged to your chosen location.laughing

Save a loo for later wherever you visit, click on the loo for more info cool

I had a look at public toilets near us and found two that were closed, and have been demolished for at least 2 years. I found that I could update the website having created a login... I wouldn't be surprised if there are many others around the country that are actually long gone. undecided

Many of our local area public toilets were removed on the pretext that we could all use the facilities in cafes, shops and pubs etc. Watch out in Cumbria, public toilets require payments, 40p in Bowness.....

Checked the map for our area.  Not accurate ---- Most of the toilets indicated do not, or no longer exist..

Tip  -- Don't rely on this software, especially if you need the loo in a hurry.surprised

But that is it seems only on stations that have "other problem"users as both our local stations are on the list and both have access without passing through the ticket barriers

It should perhaps be remembered that in the early 1900's it cost 1d to use many public facilities. On this basis, and after 100 years, 40p is probably actually cheaper in real terms.

Having said that, I think public loos should not only be free but there should be more of them. With an ageing population the need for a loo in a hurry is a factor for many more people than perhaps it was in the past.     Our local major shopping centre has several free facilities whereas in another part of the city that is complaining about a reduction in footfall and trade it is possibly due to some extent to the lack of a public loo.

In our town at least the information is correct - one public toilet in the town centre, one in the library, another at Waitrose, and the fourth at Sainsburys.

But it's missing one in 'The Courthouse' - a local Arts/Crafts facility which has toilets which are open to the public.

I think I would rather pay and there not be a loo available.  It sounds similar to the charge by DB in Germany. All of which is cheap compared to what some places charge in Italy!!!
