Newbie I'm afraid
Hi all.
Newbie here i'm afraid, but we all have to start somewhere. Picking up van (Elddis Rambler 19/4 SE) on Thursday and going to Daleacres in Hythe Kent. If you see us stop by and say Hi (and pass on ant tips that you may have).

Horse drawn? Close but not quite!
Welcome Colin and Tina. Enjoy your new van and don’t take too much notice of most things said on here 😂😂😏

No need to apologise for being a newbie. We were all newbies once. Just ask someone on site if you have any problems. You might get several different answers to your query (just like on here), but at least one of them should be right. Anyway, welcome, and enjoy your first trip.

Hi All. Thanks for your replies. We had a good time. Winds were too heavy for us to put up the awning so we didn't try.
Towing was fun. Services stops need to be well thought out as I can't just pull into the nearest McDonalds for a toilet and coffee stop. In the end I parked in Peterborough services in the lorry park where I could put the cat and van in nose first and then reverse straight out and turn without the need to un-hitch. I will go on some manoeuvring courses soon I think.

I found this club's manoeuvring course to be both good fun and good value and happily recommend it.
Whilst I still cannot reverse our caravan accurately at least I now know that it is possible and it's simply down to my lack of practice.
