Hi all.

Newbie here i'm afraid, but we all have to start somewhere. Picking up van (Elddis Rambler 19/4 SE) on Thursday and going to Daleacres in Hythe Kent. If you see us stop by and say Hi (and pass on ant tips that you may have).

No need to apologise for being a newbie.  We were all newbies once.  Just ask someone on site if you have any problems.  You might get several different answers to your query (just like on here), but at least one of them should be right.  Anyway, welcome, and enjoy your first trip.

Hi All. Thanks. Looks like we have chosen a good weekend lol, 40 mph winds for my first tow. Yikes.

Looks like `i won't be putting up the awning this time out.  Still hoping to have a good time.

Hi All. Thanks for your replies. We had a good time. Winds were too heavy for us to put up the awning so we didn't try.

Towing was fun. Services stops need to be well thought out as I can't just pull into the nearest McDonalds for a toilet and coffee stop. In the end I parked in Peterborough services in the lorry park where I could put the cat and van in nose first and then reverse straight out and turn without the need to un-hitch. I will go on some manoeuvring courses soon I think.

I found this club's manoeuvring course to be both good fun and good value and happily recommend it.

Whilst I still cannot reverse our caravan accurately at least I now know that it is possible and it's simply down to my lack of practice. embarassed
