Live Chat - Ferry Booking

It is so difficult to buy anything

I have just been trying to book a ferry crossing for next year, Plymouth/Roscoff out 8.00am 7th June, there is a crossing on that date. However the club's online booking only offers 10pm me an overnight on the 6th which is expensive. So up pops Live Chat so I go along that line looking for an answer. Ask the question of Live chat operative and after several replies of "I am checking this for you", and "thank you for waiting" and, "I won't be a moment". and the lasted one, "can I get someone to give you a call".

32 minutes that took. Guess what, apparently their booking systems were down. Why didn't she say that at first.

Unbelievable.

I sympathise. Live Chat is so laborious isn't it.  I once endured it to and fro with a  BT person in Mumbai.

A phone call direct to the Club Travel Desk on 01342 316 101 is usually more productive.

Club have just phoned me back. Got three different prices, three different sailings. That only took 12 mins

As you say ET phone direct. You can even request a call back.

Glad you are sorted Harry - the booking desk staff are very good.

I guess you have got a good price, but that Friday 8 a.m sailing from Plymouth would mean leaving home well before 6 a.m for us and we have become sybaritic these days. So we take the overnight sailing on the Thursday evening and splash out on a cabin - and because it's "Pont Aven" that night, with early evening boarding,  it means we are scanning the dinner menus in the on board restaurant before we are even passing the breakwater.

Have a good trip. Roscoff is always the best port to use.

The Pont Aven  Thurs night is £45 cheaper than the 8.00am Friday crossing. The extra price for a 2 berth outside cabin over the in price 2 berth bunk is only £20. However the 10pm Amorique mid week is £30 cheaper. Quite fancy the sound of the Pont Aven from what I have heard,

Not sure what to go for yet as we may tour and come back from Caen and there's no difference in the return price

     Decisions, decisions

I also had problems trying to book online when the time of departure kept showing a different saiing time. I rang the Club booking line and they sorted it out in ten minutes, all booked for June next year, and much cheaper than Brittany Ferries. Well done.
