It would be easy for us - we always cross from Plymouth to Roscoff, and if we didn't have indoor storage at home could easily store the caravan in Brittany and go in any direction from there.

But I think your main problem will be deciding where to store. I read about you taking ferries from Hull en route to Croatia, and at other times ferries from Portsmouth to Caen or to Bilbao on your way to Portugal. Storing in any one place on the continent would seem to be a restriction on your routes.

Storage was something we considered and also the possibility of a seasonal pitch. The site we stayed on wanted more than we were prepared to pay but there were others.

It seems a lot of our neighbours 'over there' have seasonal pitches and put an 'extra roof' atop their caravans - I'm sure you've seen them -it would certainly resolve the leaky Lunar solution!

You've probably considered the amount of time and fuel savings too, the savings on fuel alone would amount to approx £100, plus less overnight stops (should you wish to do so) In fact, why even bother with the car? Catch a cheap flight and taxi?

At €180 per year for storage, it's a no-brainer for me and I love your idea. With 3 or 4 storage areas found on Google in Istria, I wish you good hunting - they should be able to assist you further when it comes to insurance etc etc
