Parking at Dover

For over 35 years we have parked our caravan for the night before our ferry departure and on the return night at the end of the holiday in Waterloo Crescent on the seafront in Dover. On July 27th this year, 2018, we received a Penalty Notice: "Parked in a parking place or area not designated for that vehicle".

I appealed against the Notice but my appeal was rejected because " ..our On-Street Order does not allow for vehicles towing caravans/trailers etc." I have had to pay the £35 penalty.

I just thought other members ought to know about this new restriction. There are no warning signs saying No Caravans so beware.

Moderator Comment - Not quite sure why this was posted in the Story Section so have moved it to discussions where more people will see it.

Stay on a CL, we stay at Howletts Farm near Canterbury. About 40 minutes to ferry. £5 a night, big enough and level enough to stay hitched up. No electric, but its only one night.
