Has anyone been to the municipal in Metz recently?  Various reports in the past describe it as scruffy, run down etc.  Up to date info would be appreciated.  Thanks.

We’ve stayed at the municipal site at Metz on a number of occasions in the ast few years and I wouldn’t describe it as run down or scruffy, The facilities are basic but clean (like many French municipal sites) but we’ve always had a warm welcome. It’s an ideal site for visiting the city and a perfect stop over on route to Germany, Austria and Italy etc.

I’d describe it as an ideal stop over and good value for money.

Another gem we came across this year is the small municipal site in Bar le Duc. It’s predominantly a transit site too but we were tempted to stay much longer. Unfortunately the weather changed so we headed further south.

This was what it was like in 2012 http://www.davidklyne.co.uk/camping_municipal_metzplage.html

It is so convenient for the centre of Metz. There is even a small area of tarmac on the higher level which would suit motorhomes.
