Help for a Newbie please!

Hello all you adventurous people, my name is Richard and I would be extremely grateful for some advice

I have just bought a 3 year old motorhome, an Elldis Majestic 105, very low mileage and in good nic I hope!

I did have a VW van and went all over Europe in '92 when it appears the regulations were few in number Now however things have changed as you are all aware

My question is simple-

What are all the legal requirements that are now compulsory to adhere to and documentation which are required to have with you on a trip to Southern Italy travelling through France?

I'm not being as lazy as it might seem as I have investigated on the net at length but would feel more secure if I got the information from fellow members who have first hand expeience

I hope that I might be able to return the favour by answering questions by others in the future

    It's worth remembering that depending on what happens next March, required documentation etc may all change before summer........

    I very much doubt that little, if anything, will change during 2019.   My feelings are that the first changes could affect vehicles, regarding construction and use.

    Under current legislation, all EU member states have to recognise "type approval" laws.  This means that type approval given by one EU state has to be accepted as legal in every other EU state.  That situation between the UK and the EU could then end at some point, but even this will depend upon whether any developing agreements continue to retain observation of the type approval law.  But you never know with politics - a hard Brexit and tit-for-tat exchanges for no other reasons than spite could disrupt many things now taken for granted.  Regarding 'spite', could not the UK decision to change the colour of passports be seen as a step in this direction?
