This is my old Girl in 2009 coming to the end of Her stay with us. 13 years She graced our lives. They are a joy to be with are Retrievers. She is in the river Ribble at Giggleswick. Not a puddle passed Her attention such is their love of water.

Nice old girl Rocky. We had MILs elderly Black Lab for her last two years. Even at 16 years old, if we took her to water she would plop in and have a swim! She had had a stroke at some point, so tended to swim in a circle, you had to make sure she went the right way, or it was get in and go after her! We got our little Airedale pups while she lived with us, they adored her, and she them. For years after she had gone, they always got excited if they met up with a black Lab! We never took her away with us, she was too frail, she had a "holiday" with BIL!

All the Lab derived breeds I have affection for-loyal, eager to work, child & people friendly & darn gorgeous👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻😂

This is our old boy in his last year of touring. He was 12 then and this had become his favourite on-site pastime.

Discerning dogs like the same upholstery TW, our terrier aged 16 (I had to alter the colour as the original had a yellow tinge.)

Rowena has quite rightly said that there is to be no more disagreements to be posted about dogs.---- I agree with Rowena.
And to that end I am proposing that we all agree that there is absolutely no such thing as a bad dog.--- That will negate any controversial posts about any dog. K

They do indeed! I have probably posted this before, but this was our terrier trio, and the dreaded moggy snoozing a baking hot afternoon away in Cornwall! No one slept with the cat, he liked plenty of space and was fully armed at all times!

That photo is some 10 years ago Rocky. There isn't a day goes by when I don't think of them. Not quite sure how we would have coped with three in MH, but we still have that caravan. It has teeth marks on the central drawers. The one facing you is Lily, she decided to leave a lasting memento of herself in the woodwork! Little blighter she was, always in mischief. We only took the cat away in van twice, he was very old, slept most of the time. I eventually persuaded my sister to look after him rather than take him with us.

I showed the thread to my dog and he said woof woof and wagged his tail. I guess he meant I like caravan holidays especially in France where I am made especially welcome.

Our dog always go with us when touring. We would never leave him in kennels or with other people. He is a very important part of our family. We never have any problem paying for the dog on sites where dogs are charged for separately, as I expect no owner who cares for their dog would. --- Our dog, as well as ourselves, love exploring new places in the countryside and touring gives us all the opportunity to share that experience.

We are taking away our new dog for the first time soon. She's just turned 13 months and the last time we got to use our caravan was the night before we collected her as a little pup. Looking forward to it and hoping that our old boy shows her how to behave as she can be quite hard work when she wants to be and currently thinks that 5am is the time everyone should get up and play.

Are there any club sites that are dog free, where non-dog owners (there must be many of them) can enjoy peace and quiet without yapping terriers and the like who yap and bark at the slightest thing and who are allowed to mess off-lead on other members' pitches ??
Or are there plans to have partial dog free areas on sites or plans to limit the number of dogs that members bring onto club sites, like other clubs and sites do?
And are there any plans to reverse the growing trend of so much emphasis seemingly being put onto supporting the dog owners who belong to the club?
eg a couple of sites I have been too which already have acres of exercise space have now had additional fenced off areas provided within the pitches so dogs can mess. One site has put one right by a path leading to one of the shower/toilet blocks so great, I can walk by and see owners' dogs defecating right in line of sight, who's idea was that then?
On another site the same thing has been set up right opposite a prime pitch so funnily enough, members don't want to pitch there.
These facilities just pander to lazy owners who should be using the designated areas already provided where their dogs can mess without everyone else on sight having to witness it.

I think you need to contact head office for answers to your questions as they mainly concern policy which is something we ordinary folk have no knowledge of.
It's worth bearing in mind that the club is unlikely to place restrictions on dog numbers or presence on site due to the income generated from their owners.
