Help with buying a new car
I'm looking for members experiences with 'discounted' car purchase which are on offer via the Club, both the web-site and the magazine.
Question 1; Has anyone dealings with Autoebid.com in terms of discounts offered and the general buying process from start to finish. Are there any pitfalls to avoid. Did you feel comfortable with your dealings/or not! For information of whats involved please see Page 16 of this months monthly magazine; August 2018. Promotion has appear in previous editions of magazine.
Question 2: On the members web-site offers for the vehicle I'm interested in, a Nissan, currently an offer of a 16% discount on the base price; accessories are exempt and the deal is subject to the 20%VAT on the revised figure.
There appears about a £1300 difference in the two discounted 'offers' and whilst the 16% is through a dealership and gives you a reference point to jump up and down if things are not satisfactory, not sure of the mechanics and safeguards that are in place for autoebid.com although it is claimed they are regulated by the Financial Conducts Authority.
Changing a car cost a lot of money and I don't want to make a mistake!!!
Any body any experience of buying a vehicle through either of these two channels; is one safer then the other; what problems if any have been encountered?
I'm sure that generally you get the gist of what I am after. Many thanks.

Have you looked at the Carwow website? Input your requirements and wait for 5 dealers to send discounted quotes. If you want a bigger discount, print the best quote off and go to your local dealer and haggle using this as a tool!
In my case, the local dealer was the best quote, and the discount was more than I would ever had anticipated if it relied on my haggling skills.
You deal directly with the supplying dealer directly, not an agent, which if you are spending £25,000-£30,000 may be worth it for peace of mind.
At the end of the day, its price vs peace of mind I suppose
