8.24m Long Adria Adora on Ferry
Wed are going to change caravan and are going to get an Adria Adora Siene . This is a single axle at 8.24m long. We travel to the Netherlands regularly from Newcastle and the DFDS website only allows caravans up to 8m as do other ferry companies.
Has anybody any experience of taking the long Adrias on a ferry?
On many caravan trips abroad we have never had the length of caravan checked.

I am not worried about it grounding. Question is more to do with being allowed on the ferry with the van. The total length including the car will be less than the 14m of space booked (up to 5m car and up to 8m caravan).

Should be 13m booked.

If the ferry company T&Cs say '8m maximum length' you will be fine right until one of the ferry employees decides not, checks your length and says no go. Have you asked the ferry companies for further clarification?
Brrittany ferries say max caravan length 9m but not a lot of use for Netherlands

We have twice, once on Corsica ferries to Corsica where the attendant gave it a cursory glance to check we were the stated length, and again last year on the IOW ferry where the attendant actually used one of those yardstick wheels to measure the MH.
I guess if space is a premium and everyone took a half a metre off the length someone may not be able to board due to it being full!!!

They measured my 6M MH at Portsmouth last month.

I agree with Tigi regarding grounding, especially that length of caravan - Eurotunnel perhaps?

They measured our Kia Sorrento for the first time ever too.
