I personally don’t know what all the fuss is about ,surely there are enough pitches on any given site to accomadate everyone that is booked on. Most of the pitches are similar anyway. As long as our pitch is level and we can get a satellite signal for our evening viewing we are happy. Life is to short to be arguing over pitches. Just my opinion.

We was at Chatsworth watching these people, one woman placing her mh reserved sign on the pitch she wanted and the other one trying to workout how to use her compass app on her phone. And both these people were 10-15 minutes ahead of there partners, the compass one nose their cv in thinking they would be able to still put awning up on wrong side warden all over this like a rash and all because the lady wants some sun. Enjoy the rest of your year in this great country of ours, H

According to the pitching diagram on the Chatsworth site plan, back in or nose in are both acceptable. Nose in would of course mean awning on the other side, which is also acceptable.

Can be a big ask on some sites, particularly in summer, where a satellite friendly pitch becomes terrestrial only.☹️

No need to queue jump.  Some vanners could become friends with the on-site staff on their favourite sites.  A quick phone call to the site the night before they are arriving and a vacant "Best Pitch" gets a traffic cone placed on it until the vanner arrives later in the afternoon.

Would this possibly really happen ?  I would like to think not.

Which of course happens, perks of the job.. getting proof is another matter and staying free of charge for friends and relatives  is also a perk and again proving it is again another matter.

Yes absolutely certain. We could see the motorhome service point from our pitch. We saw them later drive on. No need for a completely different family who had been next to the ‘empty’ pitch to lie about it to us either!!

When we turn up on continental sites we are sometimes given a map of the available pitches. Park up, wander around (possible with one or two other couples) leave OH to reserve the selected pitch whilst I go off and get the motorhome and drive to the pitch. Not much different really.

Or, arrive at Costa with a big queue which I join whilst OH finds a table. Same thing?
