    Many thanks for the update WTG.  I'm planning to use these aires during my autumn trip but, like you, have not paid the extra subscription required to be able to reserve a space in advance.

    We will just turn up (with a plan B & C) and see how it works out.

    I don't know this scheme, or quite how it works, but the one thing I would beware of, if you're only topping up with a small amount each time, is what exchange rate you'll get and what charges will be made for transferring your pounds into euros. 

    Usually  you pay the standard fee (whatever that is) that your card provider charges for each amount, unless this type of card is different.

    I obtained a card and paid for a couple of nights last week at the 'Camping Car park' aire at Vannes. Took me four goes punching the buttons though.embarassed
