Luxembourg
can anyone recommend a good site in Luxembourg, we tow a caravan and are keen cyclists, preferably traffic free routes. Thank you.

If you mean Luxembourg as in the country (not the city) we like Camping De la sure at Diekirch. It's on a river with a cycle track straight out from the site, you can cycle for miles either way. Town very close by and you can get the train from town into Luxembourg city in about 40 mins very reasonable cost. Its No 563 in the Acsi book.

Conversely if you mean Lux city then I've used Campsite Bon Accueil, again an ACSI site No 559, nice site next to a park and bus stops just outside the gate. Ideal for the city.

We stopped at Camping Gritt a couple of years ago. Pleasant enough site on river side but local conurbation for restaurants and shops fairly limited. Seemed like a commuter town.
site had a lot of statics which had seen better days, but had a reasonable enough bar/restaurant.
served its purpose of a couple of days within reach of the city, but probably wouldn’t return. Best attraction we saw was the museum dedicated to General Patten.

We have stayed twice at Camping Op de Sauer in Diekirch, its next to De La Sure. Both sites are on the riverside which has miles of tarmac path ideal for cycling or walking,we like to walk.
Its an ACSI site too.
The town is nice, with a range of bars and restaurants also a large supermarket on the outskirts. The military museum in town is interesting.
Its a short walk to the station with services to Luxembourg city etc.
Fuel is cheap!
Op de Sauer has a restaurant behind "The Smugglers Inn" which is popular. The food and service were good and reasonably priced.
We like Luxembourg, its a pretty clean country with friendly people.
Easy to get to neighbouring Germany and Belgium. We visited Bitburg Trier and Bastogne as well as parts of Luxembourg itself.
