Advice please. When connecting the electric hook up cable / socket to the caravan socket beside the battery it is very stiff / tight pushing it on and pulling it off - my hands have cuts all over them from this. Anyone any useful tips for making the connection easier - I have attached photo to help explain. I tried lubricating it with Mr Sheen but no good.

    you could try spraying the blue with WD40? is it a new van?

    Is it stiff because the two parts don't match up in a perfect straight line?

    Try holding the plug in a different manner? ie pull up the flap align loosely then hold where the hinge is?

    WD40 for the pins and silicon grease for the plastic contact area.

    yes  I've never seen sockets like that inside/next to the battery box, indeed a separate compartment for the EHU?

    ive got satellite & telly aerial sockets in my battery compartment along with the 240v connection

    I think there's a 12 volt ciggy lighter type socket too, but can't remember embarassed

    none of that fancy stuff for ussmile 

    we just have the mover isolation socket but it can't be used if the EHU is in and the EHU can't be used if the isolation key is in (as designed)

    Makes sense to me. I use silicon grease on waterl plug-in as it tended to stick on previous 'van

    All my Lunars have had satellite connections in the same housing as the ehu socket, as in the picture. I have never had a problem plugging the satellite cable in with the ehu cable in place.

    get some fine emery paper and rub round the male connector to remove a little of the plastic then lubricate with silicon grease.

    I keep a pair of thin cotton gloves for situations like that, the material can absorb any knocks, not your skin or knuckles.

    Thanks for the replys I sprayed the pins with wd40 and then cleaned it off and its working much better now thanks again
