Adjusting towing mirrors
With towing mirror heads being reasonably stiff to adjust to that fine accuracy and my wife finds trying to adjust the passenger side mirror from outside to my directions, it’s food for thought if a manufacturer like Milenco or Towsure, could make mirrors with electric motors incorporated into them, the same as most cars nowadays have as standard, and had them prewired for a 12 volt connection from a dashboard mounted power supply socket, similar to what is done when mounting your dashcam power feed, then adjustment of towing mirrors by the driver from the drivers seat would be a doddle. No, it’s not April Fool’s Day.

Two main reasons - cost and the weight of the motor hanging on your existing mirror.

You're a braver man than me posting that? I take it Mrs Steve doesn't read these pages?
(actually Mrs CS doesn't)

And that's just for one!
I think I'll continue gesticulating / shouting at my wife for a while longer.

can't understand why so expensive for one mirror? Do motors and the electronics add that much cost?

They’ll still get hit by white van man as well.

I guess that you have never brought a replacement motorised mirror for your car.

Well other drivers insurance paid for it but it had to match and from the car manufacturer, and it had to be installed/fitted at a garage, and needed wiring up correctly.
None of which appear to be true for the one that MM showed.

Yes, it’s really the passenger side I am referring to..The drivers side is e@sy enough leaning out of the window...I do try to store them safely so that they retain their previous settings but in the boot they tend to get the odd knock and are never right when next fitted.

I bought the Reich remote control mirrors as a pair and paid about £300. Expensive, I agree but they are amazing when travelling solo and also for avoidance of "up a bit, not to far! Left a bit, no the other left..." disagreements. I don't find them noticeably heavier than previous mirrors I've owned.
