Um David - didn't you notice the post above from a non dog owner saying "let's make this the last post"? Oh yes you did, didn't you because you commented on it. I think most sensible folk, both owners and not, are getting heartily sick to death of a small number trying to keep an argument going where, in fact, a great deal of common ground exists!

Having (apparently) agreed that this is small (but annoying) problem, caused by a minority of uncaring/irresponsible owners, why is it so difficult to eradicate through wardens who seem to find different reasons (they're leaving tomorrow so.....) for not confronting offenders...

give the wardens the full backing of CC to react to (warden) reported 'crimes' and follow up with a warnings process...

the club seem able to have something like this in place for 'no shows' resulting in loss of bookings etc, why is is so difficult to 'clean up' the blight that is a 'tiny minority'?

surely if the word got around that xxx had been ejected from a site for not cleaning up, or that yyy had had their forward bookings removed as a result of a subsequent 'offence' then owners might realise the club was serious about sorting this out....

if it were a massive problem, I might accept it would take a huge culture shift, but if we are only talking about a minority then let's get on it before it does become a bigger issue...

sweeping the 'issue' under the carpet (or leaving on the pitch for all to see) won't make it go away....

with the determination to resolve this, it can't be that hard, can it?

get this one under their belt and perhaps the club could move onto speeding......etc....

I do find it almost amusing that the so called majority of responsible owners and the so called few, that notice the so called minority of irresponsible owners who allow antisocial dog related activities, claim to be in agreement that such behavior is not acceptable.

You would never know it, I guess thats why it rumbles on every year.

Despite those in denial about some dog owners anti-social behaviour who are determined in keeping this thread going on and on,--- I propose we put the thread to bed and just accept that dog mess and antisocial practices will continue as the CMC refuses to do anything about it.---- but recognise that decent dog owners do their best to act within the on-site rules.

That's the best you are going to get.

    cool

Well, we seem to be in agreement, K, though I do find your statement there a bit at variance to your earlier liking of AD's post! wink

The warden is very unlikely to be aware of the vast majority of 'crimes'. Where they are it will often be one members word against another's. Mess is generally picked up at some stage

yes good point. Also the procedure dealing with no shows has first of all actual evidence that can be used and it's after three occurrences.

So even if the wardens sees the 'crime' (and how is dog fouling, even in 'jest' a crime?) what will the warden do? Evict said owner and outfit straight away?

A bit harsh on the first offence?

But perhaps the warden will see said same 'convict' commit the 'crime' two more times then eviction?

So this warning process? What about a 'fouling ticket' could be issued each time the crime, felony, offence, accident, (insert whatever you think appropriate depending of your love of dogs) is seen by a warden. Of course to make a case these will have to be recorded somewhere by the issuing warden on a centrally online form when they get back to the office, And is it three 'strikes' on one site or across any site within one year?

This will of course take wardens away from their main duties so perhaps a dedicated new job could be created. Often we have had posters saying that rather than have wardens do all jobs get people in just to do the cleaning? well same here, a full time dog poo warden? Blakey from On the buses springs to mind or warden (pun intended) Hodges from Dad's Army pick that poo up

So a few teething problems to sort out in this eviction idea me thinks?

Or maybe the problem isn't that bad and we keep things the way they are?

Corners, you’ve raised some good points there. This clearly is a far more complex issue than some imagine. Perhaps a motion should be raised at the next AGM? cool

I think your last sentence demonstrates the best way forward.

Ah the Ostrich syndrome, never did work and judging by the year after year threads, it hasn't changed much here.

Ignoring anti-social behaviour of any kind just allows the perpetrators to assume it is their perogative to continue.

Mmm, that’s a good plan, K, but you forgot the other criteria which is “posts having a go at someone I consider to be an adversary”. Some people do it consistently. It’s quite funny to see and so predictable. laughing
