Can caravaners overnight at Cite Europe?

Hi everyone

I previously asked this forum about overnighting at Cité Europe as a motorhomer. We have decided to give this a go and are counting on this as we plan a few trips to France this year. Our friends are new to travelling in France with their little Eriba caravan and wish to join us for a trip. We have already booked a late night shuttle crossing - would they be able to join us overnighting at Cité Europe ? I have read one or two comments about caravaners stopping there but am interested in the wider view and your experiences.

Thanks

Jane

Hi Jane ,yes i have overnighted in the motorhome area on many occasions and wandered across to the store for coffee and breakfast/shopping  etc .There is no charge for the park-up,plenty of like minded m/homers too.Never seen any problems with immigrants and the police do tour around frequently. All the best ,,enjoy !!

Don’t see why not but may be worth checking? ‘All the Aires’ book should tell you. Failing that, I think that Bay de Somme services have a Caravan stop over.

    Hi Triky

We are happy for ourselves as motorhomers .. but we weren't sure about caravans. Our friends haven't been to France with their caravan before and want to travel with us to a family reunion in Brittany :)

    Hi Artyboo

I dont think the aires guides mention caravans as they aren't normally allowed on aires camping cars. I'm really looking to hear from caravaners who have been there ....

Unfortunately, as we arrive just after midnight, the Baie de Somme is rather too far off for our novice companions - and may well be full by the time we arrive anyway. cry

    Thanks for responding though smile

Yes caravans as well as motorhomes can and do stop overnight there after a late arrival in France.

    Hi David.

There is indeed a reason, and no its not ideal, but we are constrained by circumstances and are all happy with the situation. Its a glass half full situation laughing
