Good news for "wild" spanish campers

I do laugh at "wild": most of the M/H I see are in Ikea or Marina carpark so there are toilets nearby.  Must be an improvement for locals and campers to have better facilities in popular areas of Spain at this time of year.

Wild camping was alright when it was a couple (at the most) in a tent, on farmland (with agreement with the farmer) or moorland somewhere, with their own water supply, gas stove, and shovel, who dug a latrine, buried everything or took it home with them.

It isn't OK, in the suburbs of some French or Spanish town, with people tipping their chemical toilet waste down a roadside drain (seen it happen) or just discharging it in a quiet area of a car park somewhere, and leaving their waste bags propped up against a lamp post, or the overflowing bins in the corner or using a layby and leaving everything but the kitchen sink after they drive away.

this is nothing to do with 'wild camping'....this is about a new camper park....a formal camping facility....where a proper fee is paid for a camping space....

just a slimmed down campsite, or a large Aire if you prefer...

I can see that being popular with "snowbirds", particularly if they do a long stay discount.

Honfleur is listed as having 250 places! Its simnowples in popular areas on the coast the existing sites just haven't enough capacity especially since the French have stopped going to Morocco and visit Spain instead.

"Your search - simnowples - did not match any documents. " says google! Still, know what you mean. Also Germans not buying Spanish apartments, but buying or renting Concorde monster motorhomes. My spies tell me that the coastal campsites are jam packed right now, so wild camping may be the only option.

Sorry Chasncath using my phone which is rather small for big fingers! Wasn't it because of a tax on second homes the Germans turned to motorhomes?

Wife took me shopping today too Ikea Murcia and there is now a designated area for Motorhomes in their carpark with i would estimate upto 100 vans staying there, It looks very wild to me next to the A7 and a major junction.

I have to say this year does look very busy here with the amount of Motorhomes about, two days ago we were in La Mata and on a side road near the sea front there must have been 50 outfits wild camping never seen them there before. Phoned around for this weekend (Birthday) and the only site with space in Alicante/Murcia area was La Manga and didn't fancy it so now a hotel in Calpe.

The tax on second homes for Germans here is very restrictive and any thing over e105,000 they get stumped for a big tax bill back home.
