Touring in France - Route

Hi, We are taking our tourer to France this year after successfully taking it to the Paris area last year and wondered if anyone has any information about the best route from Caen to Sequoia Parc (Marennes).

The route planners seem to give a few different options and they vary quite a lot especially in toll costs.

Many thanks

Andrew

We invariably use toll roads in France for ease on long journeys but not on this route. The road via Rennes and Nantes is very good.

Obviously speed equals tolls and leisure equals scenic routes.

We visited Sequoia Parc August 2017.

There are plenty of reviews for this site.

Thanks David, that's great - that option looks good to me

As already said I would be using the route via Rennes/Nantes.

As AD says not a great advantage using tolls but last year we used a short stretch of the A83 to Bouffre and than headed for La Roche on the D763 which is dual carriageway.

Thanks for that, we will definitely use the Rennes/Nantes route then - I just wanted to check that it was caravan friendly.

To be honest the worst bit of driving for us is getting from Scotland to the ferry!!
