Red Pennant annual cover

We took out Red Pennant annual cover earlier on this year but we are changing our car for a newer model but I cant find anything in the terms and conditions about whether this is allowed or if the policiy is the car or if it is me the policy holder in a car.I fear the policiy is the car and I hope I can change the policiy easily and cheaply.

The customer services arent open over the weekend or bank holiday and I'm at work before they open and after they closed next week to call them. Hopefully someone on here has any idea as the small print I'm going around in circles with!

If it's not possible to ring them why not send them and e-mail? I am sure it must be allowed as I expect it happens quite a lot.

Yet another advantage of the Nationwide Flexplus account / policy as it covers any vehicle both in the UK and the rest of the EU.

    Hi JB,

If you have not already done so, amend your membership profile to show your new car, thats a start and future bookings will pick that up.

Great idea kontikiboy. I hadn’t even thought of changing Car on here!

Deleted User User; same car just 3 years newer so hopefully not an issue.

Iansoady; my wife has that account but they don’t repatriate pets. Red pennant are the only breakdown cover to bring pets back into the uk. All the other policies bring pets to the ports then they put you on a ferry as a foot passenger and pets aren’t allowed on with foot passengers so you have to find your own way of getting pets back.

Emailed them as well davidklyne but was hoping to get others with same experience and the result they had. :-)

    Sorry, no experience of changing.

Just looked at my Red Pennant policy due to expire in March and besides the persons insured, it's also printed the vehicles insured along with the car make and registration.

So my RP policy looks to be specific in the vehicle(s) both car and caravan.

Best to ring ASAP for verification, plus a change to the policy mid term may incur a fee but most certainly will be allowed.

Red Pennant is continental cover and covers personal, car and caravan whilst in Europe.

I take it you are not going abroad immediately so the policy won't be needed till you are.

Breakdown cover in the UK is provided by the club under their Mayday policy and is a seperate policy
