In this months magazine Rosemary Boyce writes about the beautiful County Kerry, staying at Glencross Caravan and Camping Park (which also has received excellent reviews by members on the Club website).

Have you toured this part of Ireland and what were your thoughts on the area? Do you have any recommendations of things to see or do?

Stayed at Glenross last July, decent enough site, all concrete hard standings not the easiest to pitch an awning on the grass along side. The village is nice with a great beach nearby, good pubs with food. The Ring of Kerry is a good drive but very busy with coach after coach, the weather was generally better in land and in the mountains, where we were lucky to see several white tailed eagles. Ireland was much more expensive than the UK or France.

We did a tour of Eire a couple of years ago. The Ring of Kerry is very nice but can get busy. A cross from Kerry is Dingle which is lovely.

However if I went again I would definitely go back to Connamara,it is absolutely fantastic like going back in time in parts.

Then from there up to Donegal especially the North.

If you have time visit Northern Ireland taking in the Giants Causeway. You can spend hours and hours here.

Take the drive along the coast back to Larne before returning to the Uk.

    Magic

We had a weeks holiday in Kenmare a good few years ago, staying in a cottage.

Fantastic area for golf enthusiasts and we did loads of walking. Pub life was also great.

It's true what they say about the weather. If you hang around for an hour or so it will change. All in all, a beautiful part of the world.
