Winter touring Portugal & Spain
Hi guys...planning to take Motorhome around the Iberian peninsula coast for a few weeks this winter, departing Dover around 10th December and travelling anti-clockwise after SW France. Grateful to know if I can expect touring sites ( not aires) to be full especially in Portugal where there appear to be fewer sites? I have C&MC and ACSI site guides, plus the Vicarious guide to Iberian aires for emergencies...any advice of what/where to avoid gratefully received. Have never used them during extensive touring in France, only at ferry ports. Sincere thanks....Paul.

Was down in Spain a couple of weeks ago and the most popular sites especially on the costa Blanca were filling up pretty quickly. As for Portugal I would think the same applies for the sites that do rallies .Best bet would be to ring in advance .
Have a good trip

I can't speak for the coast but inland at Madrid, Cordoba, Granada and Seville for the last month there hasn't been more than a dozen other outfits on any site and usually far less.

Hi skydog, I assume you are thinking of travelling along the north coast of Spain and then into northern Portugal. That wouldn't be my choice at that time of year, the weather can be wet, dreary and cold and you won't find much improvement until you get well south of Lisbon. I am not sure you will find too many sites open on that route either. I have done it clockwise so if it is any help my blog is >here<
