Skoda Superb reversing sensors
Since having my towbar fitted my reversing sensors alarm even when I'm not close to walls, vehicles, etc. I originally thought it was because I didn't have Skoda specific wiring fitted but opted for the cheaper generic 7N/7S wiring. Having spoken to a couple of towing equipment specialist they suggested it could be the sensors picking up the flange towball. I've thought about this and discounted it as it's only intermittent, it only detects something 80% of the time and it's not as if the towball is moving in and out of the sensors field of view. Anyone have any suggestions or advice on curing this?

Hi
I had similar trouble but not on a Skoda and it was the over run stop plate I had put on to stop the hitch hitting the bumper.
I pulled the plate away from the bumper and all was ok.
hope this helps

Can't you disable sensors on a Skoda ?

There seems little point in messing about with it, as you really will not have the specific diagrams & manuals that a main dealer will have. I suggest that you either go to a main dealer, or better still, take the car to a tow bar specialist. In my experience the tow bar specialist will often prove to be even better than the main dealer in sorting out gremlins, remember they are fitting tow bars day in day out, and will have usually come across your problem many times before.

I've got a Superb with a Witter Flange towbar which I fitted myself. At first I had a similar issue, but it was solved by fitting one of the rubber golf ball lookalike towball covers. Never had a problem since.
