A bit more specific detail and the system you use to access the site would be useful.

I reported the profile pic problem recently but no news about that unfortunately (I am stuck with the pumpkins till further notice!) frown

There also seems to be yet another delay on the web site tonight.

It's an appalling site  ...... the least user friendly forum I use. Posting pictures even has a 'how to do'  .... other forums are intuitive & just work.

It can be a bit annoying at times. Although seems to run faster of late. I can put up with its idiosyncrasies, but it would be nice to get some updates on improvements, as we are approaching the anniversary of its launch.

I was having a clearout of old paperwork this morning and came across an acknowledgement from CC regarding my disquiet about the Club website launch. It was dated late 2013. Here we are four years and a further relaunch behind us and the site is still rubbish.

So the site was closed for maintenance, couldn't have been planned or could it, I never saw a notification of closure.

So far doesn't look as if they addressed any of the myriad issue brought to their attention.  If I wasn't in polite company...........................................................yell

attempting to have a grown up debate about this website, and to pass on findings in the hope that the snagging (polite term) process will keep moving is a waste of time.

the club have shown us, by their total inaction (on improvements and, worse, communication) that this is 'it' regarding this heap of junk...

the best we will get will be (perhaps) fixes/patches just to keep it going.

with regard to improvements and the remedy of the enormous 'fault list' we have 'had our chips'.

the silence regarding the move to a 'fit for purpose' position of this forum is deafening.

The regard in which CT is held was clearly exhibited by the fact there was no notification on CT itself. So easy to do and yet.....

Yes, it was clearly visible on the home page with the date and times. Still no improvement on log out and profile pics. On booking day will people be logged in for longer than needed and hold up the queue? Or can IT genuinely log everyone out after ten minutes?

I did put "on CT itself" I always enter through my profile and discussions, having both pages on favourites tabs. I am sure many do similar, totally avoiding the primary page.

What would be so difficult about putting something in the events and announcements section.

On booking day brue the automatic time out has been suspended for the last few years. The 10 minutes for booking is totally different and you still remain logged in at the end of it. You have just to get back into the bookings.  Makes it fair one booking and you get chucked out.

I am aware of the booking day procedures Steve, but since the automatic log out isn't working properly on here my query is will it be reliable on booking day?

    Such a bad site!

What does this actually mean? Are people referring to the whole experience of the Club website or are they meaning Club Together? As far as I am concerned I have never had any problems with the booking side of the site. As far as Club Together is concerned I don't particularly have a problem with the discussion area, maybe that is the way I tend to look at the forum which is to go through each header to see what is new, I don't use latest activity.I don't follow discussions.  My biggest disappointment is the Story Section but I suspect that is such a big job in terms of IT time that it will never be sorted? Perhaps what people should do is list the three things they personally feel need immediate attention so that we get a better idea of where the priority should be?

Good post David. I doubt if the forum section software will ever be as good as any of it's rivals. Does that make it a "Bad Site", the jury's out on that.

Just work with what is there and if you don't like it,  don't use it.  There are plenty of other forums to choose from.

    cool

    I give up.

It does seem a little poor after almost a year, that the search in U.K. Sites still lists all the counties if I select, say Devon and Cornwall and then all the sites when I pick Cornwall. (See photos below)

Yes I know the appropriate ones are in bold and there are ways round the problem. But after a year.......

The reason for the content removed one above is I forgot to bold the bit at the top from your post and then it would not let me do it as an edit. Just one of the many minor problems.

Good last paragraph K👍🏻, most of us are in & out every now & then. For those who spend a lot of the day on it I guess it could be annoying constantly dealing with the issues. I know one thing-constant griping is having no effect other than on the blood pressure of the main griperslaughinglaughing

I've been on this thread by default as I'm more interested in seeing the log out and profile pic problem being addressed as per another thread in this section. I've been wondering why I can post a photo using jpg but not change my profile. I assume new members can't add a profile/avatar pic at the moment. I also don't like my log in details being retained recently and I haven't found a way round that, I'm not having similar problems elsewhere. No, it's not a bad site, it's fairly popular but it never seems to work consistently which is surprising when you look at other web sites functioning well. I realise we're lucky to have this form of communication, I will retain the string and yoghurt pots for emergencies...wink

I think we all tend to forget that because we use it regularly we have become accustomed to its idiosyncrasies. That applies to both the main web site and CT.

However, for anyone new, thinking of joining etc. It could be most off putting.
