Is it worth taking the bikes to spain in January

Hi
We are planning to do a road trip round souther Spain in January, aprox 6 weeks.

We are trying to decide if we should take our bikes which will be locked to an eyebolt on the van and our Fiamma door rack.

The reason I am posting is does anyone have experience of travelling round Southern Spain in January with bikes and did you get use out of bikes, we are thinking that it may not be worth the theft risk/ Faff of having bikes on the back especially as we think we will be leaving the van to eat out regularly?

TIA

Paul

we always take ours, but they are out of sight in the garage.

it sounds like you have a panel van (rear doors..) so security is a bit different but get them insured properly and forget about your comcerns.

once you get inland a km or two, into the orange groves youll be glad youre able to go much farther than walking, but also able to stop far more easily than in the van or in a car....

    good luck.

Maybe not if you plan to be on the move all the time and have a good pair of legs. if you plan to stop for any length of time in one place, I would take them.
