going to the show to buy a new caravan narrowed it down to a buccaneer commadore or swift elegance 650 , already got a swift elegance 645 had a few issues mainly having to have the main control box under the bed changed plus other minor interior/exterior body issues.

Have anybody any experiences ?

Thanks

Also heading to the show and will be taking a close look at the Buccaneer Baracuda along with some motorhomes as we may be ready for the switch.

We’re on our second Buccaneer, a Corsair first and currently a Caravel. They are certainly very nice caravans, extremely comfortable places to be. The Corsair had a number of build quality issues, nothing too serious, just little things like loose fixtures and fittings which were easily repaired with new screws and a little fettling by me. The Caravel has been much better, other than the microwave working loose with the vibration of traveling, nothing has gone wrong with it.

I couldn’t begin to compare with a modern Swift as the last one we owned was a 2007. I would have another Buccaneer if we decide to stay with caravans and the enivitable effect the Germans will have had on the factory (although in no way a given) would make our choice even more attractive.

in comparing your two choices, the overall feel will be an influence with the Buccaneer having a more tradional use of lots of wood effect versus a more modern contemporary feel of the Swift. It depends very much on what makes you feel comfy
