France / Spain in October
i am looking to take a couple of week holiday at the beginning of October travelling to France via the Eurotunnel. We have been to France about fifteen times but not at this time of year. Will there be many sites open? Would it be worth the journey to Spain to get better weather?

I can't do weather forecasts for October but you might find it's still bearable down in Provence - and you can get down there in two days from Calais - the city sites in Avignon and Nimes are open all year, but the sites in smaller places will mostly close on different dates during October - check those dates carefully in your site guide, but phone to check when you are in the area.

yes its doable in two days each way and the rest to recover....but check the weather (as well as site dates) carefully...
it costs plenty to dash down to 'le sud'.....with two weeks id be flying to the Canaries....
we're on the Dordogne at the moment and the weather still isnt really 'warm'...
on Sunday, after our rally here is finished, we will be doing just that...checking the weather very carefully and either going SW to the costas or SE to Côte d'Azure....
we have six weeks and its nowhere near long enough, especially if you need to 'change direction'....two weeks would be great if all goes to plan...
good luck.
