I did say SOME and I was referring to your original post which was about availability at this time of year and not necessarily when you tour, so to bring in a different timescale to have a go at my statement is rather misleading.

I wasn't having a go Wherenext. I maybe should have qualified more. I tour April till school hols in late July and stay home until end December. When I have looked at comparable sites from time to time near to where I stay I see little difference. Looking recently at Chester (8 miles from me) CC in September is about £25 for a couple. Two other significant sites are £20 and £25 but far inferior.

I have noticed this year many of our local fellow vanners have gone aboard and left the van holiday behind?

    Hi everyone,

Thanks so much for your feedback which I have forwarded on to the relevant teams. The idea of the email, and also other communications which you may have seen on Club Together and our social media sites, is to let people know of sites that still do have availability as we often hear the misconception that popular Club sites are impossible to book in the summer and this is not always the case. As such we thought it would be useful to let members know what popular sites still have late availability. We have always had the late availability area on the website for members to check and it’s ideal for those who decide to have a last minute escape. I do appreciate that many like to book in advance so this may not be relevant for you but to those who like to sometimes holiday on a whim this can be very useful. Whatever your plans for August bank holiday weekend – I hope everyone has a wonderful time and if you do decide to get away, don’t forget to check our late availabilitysmile

I haven't either and I'm heading au Sud now (currently 26 deg and dry and sunny in the Loire Valley and ditto the next 10 days at least wink), so unlikely I'll use any 'Club' sites at all this year.

I gave up trying to organise sites with spaces for a July tour in East Anglia and booked two weeks on a boat on the Norfolk Broads instead. Really enjoyed it too, so may do the same on the Welsh canals next year.

It has been a funny old year...........

The Club must keep its prices on a par, or indeed slightly below, comparable commercial sites or members will vote with their feet and not use Club sites and not renew their membership.

Maybe fees could have been kept down had a silly amount of money not been spent on the ridiculous and futile rebranding exercise carried out earlier this year

They would have been better off spending it on fitting electricity meters! wink At least that should have enabled them to reduce pitch fees.

Good, someone who's finally found out how much the rebrand actually cost, well what what it?

The club hasn't said, apart from it was affordable and a tiny fraction of the club's turnover

I don't think it's because their system couldn't cope, it's more likely that "members will get confused".
