I only do ACTUALS> 3 Nights at Betws Y Coed  £50-20. Three nights Lady Margaret £52-80. Same Period. You get 5* at Morris Leisure, say 3* at Lady Margaret.Would go to Last  Margaret if they had MWD n winter to compete with commercials in same area, which we now use.

We are all different Fisherman. As Moulesly said 'That's exactly my point, F. Good value and a better deal for you but not necessarily for everyone.'

In general Morris Leisure offers me nothing above any CC site. Nor is it cheaper. I shall be using Morris Leisure next year .... not Betws Y Coed. I visited Betws Y Coed this year and very rare for me to return to a site within 3 years with one exception

That's great, you choose what you think is the 5* site

But your 5* might only be 3* for me. It's all down to the individual to judge and pay for what they want.

I am not sure why you want to compare two sites that, for me. cover different areas being 40 miles apart. You have said that you have one that you use in preference to Lady Margaret. I presume that you are keeping that one to yourself. wink

We are also folk that use many of the Club's insurance services, especially Caravan Insurance, Mayday, Continental travel insurance and House Insurance.  I understand that some of these may be a little more expensive that non-Club equivalents, but as I have had the unfortunate pleasure of having necessity to have claimed on 3 of the 4 mentioned above and have been more than satisfied with the process and outcome, it is worth my membership fee.  We tend to use CAMC sites out of season when they are cheaper and have found them competitively priced.  I'm sure we would use Club sites even more in the main season if we were able to book hardstandings, but that's another thread and another day...  smile

Can we pay less and opt out of the magazine. I too remember 'En Route' a really great magazine. I can read the bits I want in the current magazine in about 3 minutes flat, and they could be sent to me by e mail

"Can we pay less and opt out of the magazine" ?

Your on the wrong forum if you want an answer to that.....wink

The question has already been asked & answered on the Clubs preferred mode of communicating with its members........Faceache.

To save you the bother of looking, the answer is that the endless adverts aimed at the Grey Vote pay for the magazine, so there would be no saving by you opting out.....wink

Question.......do you have be a member to take out any kind of insurance with Club? I know you don't with C&CC, because we use them for one of our policies.

Can't answer your question tda but to gain full benefits, more than 60 days continuous unoccupied house, you do need to be a member of C&CC. This club quotes, unoccupied days and conditions plus cost couldn't touch C&CC.

A caravan club membership is required to obtain an online home insurance quote

Even then its no cheaper or better cover than available to everyone out there. None of the "offers" for being a member are better than offered elsewhere.

The CMC is a retail company selling goods and services. If another retail company offers better value for money, then use them instead.----. It's called choice..

    cool

I phoned for my quotes. C&CC gave me a quote but the additional days were only on offer and continued conditional on remaining a member. We had let our C&CC membership lapse so had to rejoin. Both clubs asked for membership numbers. I believe they are insurance brokers in their own right as they are 'licensed' so maybe you can have cover without being a member but T&C maybe different.

The advice to "shop around" is good advice.

I tried the CMC for car insurance and received a quote nearly three time that offered by LV and they are not the cheapest by a long way.

I changed our caravans insurance to the CCC for a near 50% premium reduction. However I stick with the CMC for the Mayday recovery insurance - for now.

Agree...My 2017 Annual multi trip overseas insurance quotes from both clubs were.. C&CC £282.00, CaMC £368.00(standard) almost identical cover except for a 'pre existing med condition' on the C&CC policy.. Cannot get a 2018 quote online from the CaMC as start date will be Feb 18...for some reason you have to ring a call centre for dates after 'current date start'..

Shopping around for everything these days is only sensible. Also once you have figures, for whatever you're buying, a period of thought and reflection while you contemplate the T&C and implications before you jump 😉

I regret that I am very disappointed with the current pricing strategy and will being voting with my feet at membership renewal time. I just had a weekend at Brighton which was outrageously priced and now, I try to book a week in Cornwall out of school holidays and, again, way too expensive. Greed will kill so many businesses in this country.
